The estimated growth rate of biochar production is huge – as indicated by the prognoses (see below) of European Biochar Initiative (EBI). The production of biochar at an industrial scale with Torrec technology is extremely profitable, thanks to the exceptionally effective use of raw material with long retention time, low energy costs and low capital expenses due to use of standard industrial solutions in drying and heat generation.
